What stays on your phone

You can use the coach and log your training without an account. Your plan, logs, injury and soreness notes, check-ins and pregnancy settings are kept on your phone and are not sent to us.

What we hold if you create an account

Account: your email address or Sign in with Apple identifier, your username and display name.
Training profile and log: goal, experience, training days, sex, bodyweight, units, equipment, and your workouts and sets, so they're backed up and can be restored.
Verified lifts: the videos you choose to submit, the result of the on-phone check, and the gym the lift was filmed at. Videos are used to verify the lift and can be viewed by reviewers.
Friends and gym: your home gym, friends, challenges and leaderboard entries.
Phone number: only if you choose to verify one so friends can find you. We keep a one-way hash of it for matching.
Notifications: a push token so we can send the alerts you've switched on.
Invites: who invited you, and any free months earned.

Things we check but don't keep

Location: checked once when you submit a lift, to confirm you're at your gym. It is not stored.
Contacts: if you choose to find friends, email addresses and numbers are turned into one-way hashes on your phone and compared with lifters who allow it. Your contacts are not uploaded or stored.
Facebook: if you connect it, Facebook gives us the friends who also use Lift Proven, to show them to you. Nothing is posted.

Apple Health and Health Connect

Only if you switch it on. Lift Proven saves each finished session to Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android) as a strength workout with an estimate of the calories burned, and reads your most recent bodyweight so your plan and bodyweight rankings stay accurate. It reads nothing else. Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with anyone else. The bodyweight it reads is treated like a bodyweight you type in: kept on your phone and, if you have an account, in your training profile. Turn it off in Settings at any time, and remove access in Apple Health or Health Connect.

Payments

Subscriptions are handled by Apple or Google and managed through RevenueCat. We never see your card details. We receive whether your subscription is active.

Why we use it (lawful basis)

To provide the app you asked for (contract); to keep leaderboards fair and the service secure (legitimate interests); and, where you switch something on such as contacts, location or notifications, your consent, which you can withdraw in the app or your phone's settings.

Who processes it for us

Supabase (database, storage and sign-in), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Expo (app updates and notifications), Apple and Google (app stores and payments). Some of these may process data outside the UK, under safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

What others can see

Your username, verified lifts, crowns and leaderboard places can be seen by other lifters. In Settings you can choose who can challenge you, whether people can find you from their contacts, and whether you show in your gym's lifter list.

How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account. Delete your account in Settings (More, then Delete my account) and your account, synced logs, verified lifts and videos are deleted.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, delete it, or object to how it's used. Email support@arxalgorithms.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Children

Lift Proven is not for anyone under 16.
